Practical investment
experience.

Developing investment judgement through research, analysis and structured evaluation.

Based at the University of York, YSIF is fully operated, organised and funded by students. Members gain direct experience in fundamental research, valuation and portfolio construction.

The fund meets weekly to consider company research and review investment assumptions. Members contribute to sector coverage, portfolio strategy and risk management.

Alongside the fund's investment activity, we run a structured seminar series to improve students' understanding of investing and support their progression towards careers in finance.

02 Education and progression

Structured learning
and responsibility.

A six-week financial education series provides members with a practical foundation in investment analysis.

The programme introduces equity research, financial analysis, valuation and the principles of portfolio management. Following the series, participants work in groups to research and present a selected group of equities to the fund for formal review.

Continued participation gives members the opportunity to take on greater analytical, editorial and leadership responsibility. The structure is intended to develop relevant professional skills and support career progression within finance and investment management.
